Nugent Named Goalie of the Week in Fourth GNAC Weekly Honor
NASHUA, N.H. – After recording back-to-back shutouts in a 2-0-0 week, Rivier women's soccer junior goalkeeper Bri Nugent was tabbed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalie of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Nugent made three stops in the regular-season finale on Tuesday night versus Lasell, securing the third seed in the GNAC Tournament for the Raiders.
In Saturday's quarterfinal matchup against No. 6 Albertus Magnus, Nugent stopped all four shots on target to produce her 10th clean sheet of the campaign, continuing Rivier's historic season.
Next up for Nugent and the Raiders is No. 2 seed, Emmanuel (Mass.), in the conference semis on Tuesday night at Roberto Clemente Field, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
In the last meeting between the two teams, Riv secured its first victory over the Saints since October 2014. Nugent made 11 saves, her season high, on her way to earning GNAC weekly honor.
