2024 Season Preview: Rivier Women’s Soccer

COACH MILTON PREVIEWS THE 2024 SEASON

NASHUA, N.H. – After being picked to finish sixth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll and receiving one first-place vote the Rivier women's soccer team is set to begin its 2024 campaign on the road against Keene St. at 6:00 p.m. at Dr. Ron Butcher Field. 

LAST SEASON 

  • The Raiders concluded their season in the GNAC Quarterfinal round, falling to eventual runner-up Emmanuel (Mass.) 

  • The team earned the seventh seed in the GNAC Tournament after posting a 10-7-3 (8-5-2) record 

  • The ten wins were the fourth most in program history while the eight conference victories were tied for the most all-time 

  • The squad's 4-0 win against Albertus Magnus in the GNAC play-in round was the first postseason win in 23 seasons 

  • Bri Nugent, Maya Puma, and Julia Cafferty combined for a program-best eight clean sheets on the campaign 

  • In his first season, Daniel Milton was named the GNAC Coach of the Year award

  • The incoming players are headlined by 13 first-year players and six transfers 

SCHEDULE 

  • The season begins at Keene St. (8/30) 

  • The home opener for the Raiders is against Mass. Maritime (9/10)

  • GNAC play opens the next night at home against New England Col. 

  • The Cerebral Palsy Awareness Game will take place on 9/21 against Simmons 

  • A rematch of the GNAC Quarterfinal clash takes place on 9/28 as the team plays host to Emmanuel (Mass.) 

  • Senior Day falls on 10/12 against Albertus Magnus 

  • Hampshire United Day will be celebrated on 10/19 versus Saint Joseph (Conn.) 

  • The regular-season concludes with a home matchup against Lasell (10/29)
