Nugent Named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week
NASHUA, N.H. – Rivier women's soccer junior goalie Bri Nugent was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week after posting a 2-0-0 week against GNAC opponents with 14 saves and one clean sheet.
Nugent recorded a three-save shutout on Wednesday night against Anna Maria on home turf to secure the fourth-straight conference victory for the Raiders.
In Saturday afternoon's clash with Emmanuel (Mass.), Nugent made 11 stops on 12 shots on target to shut down the nation's top scoring offense in Division III who entered the contest averaging five goals per game. The 2-1 triumph over the Saints on Alumni Reunion Weekend marked the first win over Emmanuel in the all-time series since the Raiders came away with a 1-0 win in Boston, Mass. on Oct. 9, 2010.
This is Nugent's first GNAC Weekly Award, and the first for the program since Maya Puma registered the same honors on Oct. 2, 2023.
The Raiders, who now sit at 5-3-2 (5-0-1 GNAC), look to keep their conference unbeaten streak alive in a Tuesday afternoon clash at Dean. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Longley Athletic Complex.
