BRUNSWICK, Maine – Rivier women's ice hockey was bested in a non-conference road clash at Bowdoin on Tuesday evening, 5-0, at Watson Arena.
The loss dropped the Raiders' record to 2-7-0 while the Polar Bears remain perfect through five games.
The hosts scored twice in the final two minutes of the first to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
A pair of goals in the middle of the second period doubled the Polar Bears' lead, which remained at 4-0 until the final buzzer.
Senior netminder Rachel Hinkley made 38 saves in the setback as Rivier was outshot 42-9. Bowdoin went 1-for-2 on the powerplay while killing off the Raiders' lone man advantage.
Following the Thanksgiving break, Rivier will return to action in another non-conference road clash, this time at Salem St., on Friday, Dec. 6. Puck drop from Rockett Arena is set for 6:00 p.m.
