NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier women's ice hockey team fell to non-conference foe, Keene St., by a score of 5-1 at Conway Arena on Epilepsy Awareness Night.
The result puts the Raiders at 2-3-0 (2-0-0 MASCAC), while the Owls improved to 2-2 in the young season.
Keene St. lit the lamp four times, twice in the first period and twice again in the second, before Rivier found twine. Senior forward Paige Anger spotted sophomore Tia Picardi in the slot who placed her shot of the post. Sophomore forward Rebecca McKelvey fired in the rebound giving the Raiders their lone goal.
The Owls netted their fifth and final goal halfway through the third period to secure the 5-1 victory.
Senior goalkeeper Rachel Hinkley made 31 saves in the contest.
The Raiders head to Keene, N.H. for the back half of the home and home with the Owls. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Keene ICE.
