Parent, McGaheran Take Home MASCAC Weekly Awards

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Rivier women's hockey forwards Brianna Parent and Keegan McGaheran were named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Parent recorded three goals and two assists, totaling five points, in a 2-0-0 MASCAC week for the Raiders. The Saint Albans, Vt. native's three goals came by way of a hat trick in Rivier's 10-1 win over Framingham St. on Saturday, Nov. 11. The senior captain tacked on her first point of the season in a 4-0 win over Anna Maria on Friday, Nov. 10 to kick off the inaugural MASCAC women's ice hockey season.

McGaheran posted a three-point week for the Raiders by way of two goals and an assist. The first-year forward notched her first career goal and assist in the conference opener on Friday night. The Potsdam, N.Y. native potted her second goal in as many days on the road against the Rams to bring her up to a +4 rating.

The Raiders are back on the ice Friday, Nov. 15 in game one of a non-conference home-and-home on Keene St. at Conway Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
