STANDISH, Maine – The Rivier women's basketball team saw its season come to a close with a 74-64 loss to Saint Joseph's (Me.) in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Quarterfinals at the Harold Alfond Center on Tuesday evening.

The Raiders completed the 2023-24 season with a 10-17 overall record while the Monks move on to Thursday's semifinal round with a 19-7 record and will host No. 4 Emmanuel (Mass.)

Going into the locker room at the half, Saint Joseph's was up 33-26. Lyric Grumblatt led the Raiders in the first half with 13 points with Anna Stenger not far behind with nine points.

With less than four minutes left in the contest, Rivier cut the Monks' lead down to two points on a Grumblatt three off a turnover but were not able to surpass SJC who used free throws down the stretch to pull away from the Raiders.

Grumblatt earned a double-double with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Stenger collected 13 points and three rebounds

The Monks stood out on the free throw line, shooting 85.0 percent (17-of-20). Rivier shot 47.1 percent from the line in the setback.
