GNAC RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass. – Rivier women's basketball senior guard Lyric Grumblatt has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year, the conference office announced Tuesday. This is the second time she has been bestowed the honor as she was named the Player and Rookie of the Year in 2021-22.

Helping her Raiders to back to the playoffs and into their third consecutive quarterfinal round appearance, Grumblatt finished second in the GNAC in scoring with 25.2 points per game on 41.5% shooting. The Manchester, N.H. native also hit 37.4% of her three-point attempts, the best percentage of all starters.

Grumblatt often stuffed the stat sheet with eight double-doubles over 27 starts on the season. The senior averaged 7.9 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.6 assists on the season.

Numerous awards flooded in for Grumblatt throughout the successful campaign as she was named the GNAC Player of the Week four times, was placed on the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) First Team on four occasions, placed on the NEWBA Second Team once, and was named the NEWBA Player of the Week following a week in which she averaged 41.5 points and 6.5 rebounds.

Additionally, Grumblatt made moves in the Rivier record books this season, using 83 three-pointers to break the all-time three-point record and sit at 250 for her career. She also scored 680 points to sit at 1,840, the second-most in program history.

Grumblatt and the Raiders look to return in 2024-25 for a push at a GNAC title.
