Grumblatt Honored as NEWBA First Team Selection
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – After being tabbed with Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week, Lyric Grumblatt collected New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) First Team Honors. This is Grumblatt's fourth NEWBA recognition of the season.
Grumblatt steered the Raiders to a 1-1 week, with a victory over JWU-Providence. The senior guard averaged 28.5 points on 52.4% field goal shooting (including 41.2% three-point shooting) while also averaging 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals, 2.0 assists, and 0.5 blocks per game.
Grumblatt recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a mid-week loss to Lasell before pouring in 34 points with eight rebounds and four steals in a 20-point win over JWU on Saturday afternoon.
Rivier returns to action tonight, Jan. 30 in a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against another GNAC matchup, Saint Joseph's (Maine).
