Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Final Weekend of Regular Season

BOSTON, MA: Rivier men's volleyball swept both Emmanuel and Emerson this afternoon in GNAC action.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/8/23

- Score: Rivier 3, Emmanuel 0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-14). Rivier 3, Emerson 0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-19)

- Records: Rivier (19-10, 13-3 GNAC), Emerson (12-14, 8-8 GNAC), Emmanuel (19-13, 10-6 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED: Match One

-  The Raiders offense outhit the Saints 39 to 19 and .359 to -.029. Jack Normandin (Clifton Park, NY) led the way with 12 kills. Neil Rea (Windham, NH) was the setter in this one, racking up 30 assists, three kills, and five digs.

- The Saints offense was topped by Leonard Kim with five kills and five digs. Dominic DeFerrari had 13 of the team's 19 assists.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Kills: Rivier 39, Emmanuel 19

-  Assists: Rivier 37, Emmanuel 19

-  Digs: Rivier 24, Emmanuel 21

HOW IT HAPPENED: Match Two

-  The Raiders offense performed at an even higher level against Emerson, racking up 45 kills and a kill percentage of .487. The Lions finished with 29 kills and a .181 kill percentage.

- Normandin topped Rivier again with 14 kills, with Sokunbuth Ly (Lowell, MA) finishing just behind him we 12 kills and five digs. Rea continued to set in this one adding another 29 assists to his total on the day.

-  Neiko Pittman led the way for Emerson with 11 kills and six digs. Luke Roehm finished just behind him with ten kills, along with five digs.

-  Digs: Rivier 20, Emerson 19
