Men’s Volleyball Downs Chargers

NEW LONDON, NH: Rivier men's volleyball defeated the Chargers of Colby-Sawyer College this evening in conference action.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 4/4/23

- Score: Rivier 3, Colby-Sawyer 0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-15)

- Records: Rivier 17-10, 11-3 GNAC), Colby-Sawyer (3-19, 0-12 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Raiders handled a struggling Chargers team easily this evening. Rivier had a clean night at the net with just four attack errors with 29 kills for a .431 kill percentage as a team. Colby-Sawyer struggled as they hit for -.047, with 12 kills and 15 errors.

Matthew McCloskey (Salem, NH) was Neil Rea's (Windham, NH) top choice, with McCloskey sending down ten kills of Rea's 22 assists. Rea also finished with the most digs on the team, with seven.

- The Chargers were topped in kills and digs by Isaac Davies, who had eight kills and eight digs. He finished with the best kill percentage on the team with a .444 with eight kills and no errors. CJ Murphy sent out nine assists in this one, along with five digs.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Kills: Rivier 29, Colby-Sawyer 12

-  Assists: Rivier 24, Colby-Sawyer 10

-  Digs: Rivier 26, Colby-Sawyer 18

UP NEXT:

- Rivier men's volleyball will be back Saturday to finish off the season with a tri-match against Emmanuel and Emerson. Emmanuel is scheduled for 12 pm and Emerson at 2 pm.
