Men’s Volleyball Edged by Springfield

NASHUA, NH: Rivier men's volleyball fell in a close match to Springfield College in non-conference action.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/22/23

- Score: Springfield 3, Rivier 0 (18-25, 22-25, 33-35)

- Records: Springfield (13-2), Rivier (6-6)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Pride took all three sets, but the Raiders didn't make it easy keeping it close throughout the match. Rivier looked to have won the third set 34-32, but the officials made a questionable touch call on a block that opened the door for Springfield to get the clean sweep of the Raiders.

- Springfield's offense was dominated by Jarrett Anderson, who finished with an impressive 21 kills with just three errors. He also was second on the team in digs with eight. Dylan Mulvaney dished out a match-high 39 assists. Branden Gonzales was all over the court for the Pride, racking up 11 digs at his libero position.

- Chris Lezon (Lincoln, RI) and Ethan Soltis (Massillon, OH) paced the Raiders offense, with Lezon topping the team with 13 kills and Soltis ending with ten kills. Neil Rea (Windham, NH) had 32 assists in the effort.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Kills: Springfield 49, Rivier 37

- Assists: Springfield 47, Rivier 36 

-  Digs: Springfield 40, Rivier 33
