Skyhawks Fly Past Men’s Ice Hockey

EASTON, MA: Rivier men's ice hockey lost to Stonehill College this evening on the road.   

THE BASICS:

- Score: Stonehill 5, Rivier 1

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Riv's Alan Yu (Baldwin Park, CA) recorded the first goal of the game with an assist from Alfred Rotiroti (Chicago, IL). With 45 seconds left in the first period, Cameron Collins of Stonehill College answered back with a goal and assists were credited to Nolan FitzPatrick and Matt Talarico.  

- Early in the second period, Collins sent the puck to Brendan Nehmer who found the back of the net for the Skyhawks.

- Stonehill opened the game up with three more goals in the third period. Carter Rapalje scored his goal at 3:06 with assists from William Tripp and Frank Ireland. Ireland passed to Nehmer who took advantage of the power play opportunity to score for the Skyhawks. Rapalje fired in his second goal of the game for Stonehill with another assist from Ireland.

- Luke Newell (Littleton, CO) saved 33 shots for the Raiders tonight. Skyhawks' John Day was able to save nine of 10 shots, taking the win.

- Penalties: Stonehill 15 minutes on 2 infractions, Rivier 4 minutes on 2 infractions

- Power Plays: Stonehill was 1-for-2, Rivier was 0-for-2
