Men’s Hockey Skates Past Mustangs

NASHUA, NH: Rivier men's hockey scores two third-period goals to lift themselves over SUNY Morrisville this afternoon at Conway Arena.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/19/22

- Score: Rivier 4, Morrisville 3

- Records: Rivier (4-3-1), Morrisville (3-4)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- Today's contest was a back-and-forth battle between the two teams. Rivier struck first at 7:57 on the power play off a wrist shot from Logan Dapprich (Amherst, MA). Zach Winslow (St. Pete Beach, FL) and Jon Tavella (E. Longmeadow, MA) were credited with the assists. However, the Mustangs would answer back a little over five minutes later to even the score on a Cameron Clark goal.  

- The second period saw Morrisville take the 2-1 lead 5:13 in when Andrew Manley got a give-and-go with teammate Trevor Neumann. The Raiders' second goal to knot it up came 12:00 minutes in on a 5-on-3 power play. Tavella beat the Mustang tender after receiving passes from Avery Arnold (Camp Hill, PA) and Ashton Jones (South Lyon, MI). The period would come to a close with the Mustangs netting another goal to go up 3-2 off another give-and-go from Curtis Abbott, with the assist going to Richard Hart.

- The Raiders would tie the game up just 27 seconds into the third period on a Nicolas Paolucci (Toronto, ON) goal. The game-winner would come 14:41 into the period on Rivier's third power-play goal of the night. Jack Tos (Burlington, ON) would finish off a pass from Cormac Hayes (E. Longmeadow, MA).

- Will Augustine (Livonia, MI) would pick up his second win of the season, improving to 2-0 after saving 30 of the 33 shots he faced. Grant Linville will fall to 0-2 on the season after saving 29 of the 33 shots he faced.

-  Penalties: Morrisville 10 minutes on 5 infractions. Rivier 4 minutes on 2 infractions.
