Women's Volleyball places five to GNAC All-Conference Teams

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced today that five different Rivier University Raiders were selected to the All-Conference Teams, including freshman Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) who was selected as the GNAC Defensive Player of the Year.

Rivier University, which claimed the 2014 GNAC Championship with a 3-1 victory over Johnson & Wales, placed four student-athletes on the First Team and one on the Second Team. Sophomores Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) along with junior Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) and Trevino were all named First Team members. Sophomore Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) was the lone Raider on the Second Team.

Mott (2.88) and McCormack (2.67) are both among the top-five in the GNAC in kills per set, while O'Reilly is tops in the conference in assists per set (9.44) and Trevino is second in digs per set (4.38) among league leaders. Silverman had an outstanding season along the net as she ranked third in blocks per set (0.85) and third with 94 total blocks in the conference.

Sophomore Chelsey Hussey (Lebanon, Conn.) also earned GNAC honors as she was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

O'Reilly was also selected as the 2014 GNAC Tournament MVP with Mott and McCormack also being named to the All-Tournament Team.
