Mott's 13 kills led Women's Volleyball past Southern Maine

(Nashua, N.H.) Sophomore Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) knocked down 13 kills as she led the Rivier University Women's Volleyball team to a four set win over visiting University of Southern Maine this evening at the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders improve to 10-5 on the season while the Huskies fall to 10-4.

Mott was not the only sophomore who helped guide the team to their tenth victory as Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) contributed with 11 kills. Juniors Jackie Pisecco (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) directed the offense as they dished out 16 and 20 assists, respectively. Freshman Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) led the defensive effort with 19 digs while McCormack added 14 of her own in the win. Freshmen Jordan Donohue (Meredith, N.H.) and Alex Trevains (Litchfield, N.H.) played well for Rivier in the contest.

Jessica Willamson was the star of the night for Southern Maine as she hammered down a game high 18 kills, 11 digs and a .378 hitting percentage. Megan Nilson had 26 assists and Demi Ruder added 12 digs in the loss.

Rivier will host both Colby College and Southern Vermont on Saturday in the final non-conference tri-match of the season. Southern Maine will also host a tri-match on Saturday as they welcome Western Connecticut State University and Bates College to Gorham, Maine.
