Silverman, Trevino earn GNAC Weekly Honors

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced that both Lauren Silverman and Bethany Trevino were selected for the Women's Volleyball honors.

In a 4-0 week, Silverman averaged 2.14 kills and 0.64 blocks per set while posting a .468 hitting percentage. The sophomore put down 30 kills and nine blocks over the four matches, including a 15 kills performance to start the week against Framingham State and a .875 hitting percentage against Mount Ida to end the week. This is the first time that the Chelmsford, Mass. native has been selected as GNAC Offensive Player of the Week. She joins sophomore Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.), junior Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) and sophomore Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) as the only Raiders to receive this honor.

Trevino was selected as the final GNAC Rookie of the Week. The Westminster. Colorado native racked up 47 digs in just 14 sets played to help the team to four wins. The first year libero averaged 3.36 digs per set, including 19 digs in a three set win over the University of Saint Joseph. Trevino has been recognized as the GNAC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.

The Raiders finished the regular season with an overall record of 25-6. Their 10-1 GNAC mark locked up the #2 seed in the GNAC Tournament. They will host 7th seeded Anna Maria College tomorrow night at 7pm in the GNAC Quarterfinals.
