Women's Volleyball rallies for 5th set win at Keene State

(Keene, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team earned a tough non-conference victory tonight as they defeated the Keene State Owls in five sets. Rivier was able to take the final two sets to secure their 13th win of the season.

Sophomore Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.), fresh off her outstanding week in which she was named GNAC Offensive Player of the Week, had the best game of her career as she hammered down 24 kills and recorded a .595 hitting percentage over the five sets. Classmate Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) had an all-around solid game as she produced 12 kills and 11 digs. Junior Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) directed the flow of the offense as she dished out 48 assists to go along with her 14 digs and 4 service aces. Freshman Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) registered the game high with 23 digs and sophomore Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) had 9 kills and 3 total blocks.

The Raiders took the game by scores of 16-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22 and 15-11.

Keene State had three student-athletes who recorded double-digit kills as they were led by Angela Silveri's 14. Both Cat Kazazian (13) and Samantha Branning (10) were the other Owls in two-figures. Leslie Hearns had 17 digs and Alexis Michal chipped in with 29 assists.

Rivier is now 13-5 overall on the season and will begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference competition this Saturday as they travel to Boston, Mass. for a tri-match with Lasell College @ Suffolk University.
