Watch: Post-Game Comments (Matthew-Murray, Dias, Holdsworth)

NASHUA, N.H. – The Rivier men's soccer team broke four recorded records Saturday afternoon in its 11-0 win over VTSU Lyndon on Community Appreciation Day.

Prior to the contest, Assistant Coach Sam Holdsworth '19 and his family were honored for their years of service to the Nashua community.

The Raiders improved to 2-0-1 with the win, which is the best start through three games in the record books. Lyndon fell to 0-2-0 in the setback.

It took 28 seconds for senior Jason Harlow to find the back of the net and give the Raiders an early 1-0 lead, marking the fastest goal scored in recorded program history.

Rivier set the largest halftime lead in recorded history, taking a 6-0 lead into the break.

As the clock struck 90 minutes, two more registered records were broken, the largest margin of victory and most goals scored in a match, putting the exclamation point on an 11-0 win.

In addition to numerous recorded records being broken, first-years Kamar Matthew-Murray, Arthur Dias, Alejandro Quezada, Alan Olmos, sophomore Giovanni Iob, juniors Andrew Berthiaume and Brandon Sweeney, and senior Braden Dee all logged their first collegiate goals in the contest.

Senior Steven Swiderski and first-year Geovanny Quintana logged a combined shutout in the box.

The Raiders are back in home action on Tuesday, Sept. 10 as they begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play in a matchup against Saint Joseph (Conn.) Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. at Merrill Field.
