Poitras named ECAC D3 New England Player of the Week

(Centerville, Mass.) The Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced that Rivier University Men's Basketball senior Tom Poitras has been named the ECAC's Division III New England Player of the Week for Men's Basketball.

Poitras averaged 27 points and 6 rebounds for the Raiders last week. The Bow, New Hampshire native registered a 73% shooting percentage and was 9-for-13 from the floor in a one point win over Norwich University. He followed that performance with another 27 point night in a 67-62 loss at Emmanuel College. Poitras collected 7 rebounds in the Emmanuel game and added another 5 rebounds against Norwich.

The 6-6 forward was successful on 19-of-26 from the floor over his 64 combined minutes on the week.

This is the first time this season that Poitras has been named the ECAC Player of the Week and it comes on the heels of being named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
