Bovill Notches Hat Trick in Field Hockey’s Shutout Win at Elms

CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Rivier field hockey team used a three-goal output from senior midfielder Madison Bovill to race past Elms, 5-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Tuesday night at Leary Field.

The Raiders improved to 7-9 (5-6 GNAC) while the Blazers remained winless through 15 contests.

Bovill opened the scoring 2:38 into the contest on an unassisted goal, followed up by classmate Chloe Sicard finding the back of the net nearly 12 minutes later to make it 2-0 after 15 minutes.

Bovill completed the hat trick with two goals less than five minutes apart in the second quarter, improving Riv's lead to 4-0 at halftime.

Sicard closed out the game with her second tally 1:22 into the fourth period, sealing the Raiders' fifth conference triumph of the season.

Rivier outshot Elms 40-1 while Elms' keeper Emily Hunt made 20 saves in the contest. The Raiders recorded 19 corners, their second-most attempts in 2024.

GNAC play continues for Rivier on Saturday, Oct. 26 in a road matchup at Saint Joseph's (Me.) The match will start at noon at the SJC Athletics Complex.
