Women's Basketball season ends in ECAC Quarterfinals

(Northampton, Mass.) The Rivier University Women's Basketball season came to an end this evening in the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Quarterfinals as they fell to fourth seeded Smith College, 75-67 in the Ainsworth Gymnasium.

Rivier finishes the 2013-14 season with a 20-8 overall record. Smith (17-11) will advance to the ECAC Semi-Finals hosted by Endicott College where they will take on eighth seeded Brandeis University.

The Raiders were led by junior Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) and senior Ryan Baker (Whitinsville, Mass.) who each poured in 16 points. Freshman Savannah Butterfield (Londonderry, NH) added 12 points while senior AJ Guidi (Derry, NH) pulled down a team best 10 rebounds in a reserve effort.

This is the second time in three seasons that the Rivier University Women's Basketball team has earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament.
