Women's Basketball falls to Trinity College

(Nashua, NH) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team lost their second game in a row this evening as the visiting Trinity College Bantams took an 83-68 decision inside of the Muldoon Gymnasium in a non-conference contest.

Junior Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) led the offense for the Raiders as she knocked down 6-of-16 from the floor and added six freebies for 19 total points. Purcell also collected six rebounds before she fouled out of the contest. Freshman Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, NH) added 15 points off the bench for Rivier while senior AJ Guidi (Derry, NH) contributed 11 points in 20 minutes of action.

Four Bantams reached double-digits in the win as senior Hannah Brickley (Melrose, Mass.) recorded 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Senior Shantel Hanniford (Nantucket, Mass.) collected a team high 8 rebounds and added 10 points. Senior Emily Dixon (Norwood, Mass.) knocked down 5-of-7 for 10 points of her own in reserve effort while senior Taylor Murtaugh (New York, NY) contributed 16 points.

Next up for the Raiders will be a road test against Emmanuel College, who is currently undefeated in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Game time is set for 3pm on Saturday afternoon in Boston, Mass. Trinity will return to action as they host Middlebury College in their final regular season game of the season.
