Women's Basketball rolls to 13 point win over Albertus Magnus

(New Haven, Connecticut) The Rivier University Women's Basketball team remains undefeated in the GNAC as they defeated Albertus Magnus College, 89-76 this afternoon down in New Haven, Connecticut. The Raiders improve to 12-3 overall and 3-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference with the win.

Junior Deanna Purcell (Hudson, NH) once again paved the way to the 13 point win as she led the team with 26 points on 9-of-16 shooting and 8 rebounds. Freshman Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, NH) added 18 points and senior AJ Guidi (Derry, NH) provided 13 points as they were key contributors off the bench for Rivier. Senior Ryan Baker (Whitinsville, Mass.) was solid at the point as she dropped 10 points and 5 assists on the afternoon.

Albertus Magnus was led by Lianna Carrero who shot 50% on her way to 24 points. Both Annie Raucci and Kelsey Pendagast recorded double-double as Raucci had 17 points, 11 rebounds and Pendagast added 16 points and 11 rebounds. With the loss, Albertus Magnus falls to 3-14 overall and currently have a 0-3 mark in the GNAC.

Rivier will return to comfy confines of the Muldoon Gymnasium for their next three games. Game one of the three game homestand will be on Thursday night when they welcome Salem State University for a 7pm non-conference contest.
