(Nashua, NH) Freshman Savannah Butterfield (Londonderry, NH) recorded her first career double-double as the Rivier University Women's Basketball team easily defeated visiting Fisher College 98-62 in a non-conference contest inside the Muldoon Gymnasium this evening.

With the victory the Raiders climb to a 5-1 overall record while Fisher falls to 2-5.

Butterfield played tremendously well as she shot 5-for-7 from the field and was perfect (6-for-6) from the charity stripe for a total of 16 points. Freshman Caitlyn Perry (Nashua, NH) was the other Raider to finish with double-digit points as she netted 10.

Fisher was led by the sharpshooting senior Javana Bernard (Waterbury, CT). Bernard scored the game high of 28 points as she went 9-for-21 from the floor including 4-for-7 from beyond the arc. Classmate Porsha Grayson (Merced, CA) had a solid night as she had 13 points in the loss.

With finals beginning next week, this was the last game for the Women's Basketball team until they hit the floor in the Sunshine State for the ECAC Holiday Classic on December 28th. Fisher will return to action tomorrow night as they travel to another Great Northeast Athletic Conference school in Mount Ida College. Tip-off for the Raiders is scheduled for 6pm.
