Men's Soccer takes 2-0 win over New England College

(Nashua, N.H.) Sophomore Christopher Buzan (Dunstable, Mass.) netted his first two goals of the season in the second half as the Rivier University Men's Soccer team defeated visiting New England College, 2-0 in a non-conference contest at Raider Field. The win evens the Raiders' overall record at 3-3 while the loss moves the Pilgrims to 4-4.

Buzan broke the scoreless tie in the 55th minute as he slid one past the NEC netminder, unassisted. 23 minutes later, Buzan added a key insurance goal as he found the back of the net after senior Kyle Gambeski (Bedford, N.H.) fed a perfect thru ball to the top of the 18.

Freshman Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.) stopped all eight shots he faced on net for his second win of the season and first career shutout. NEC's Maxime Danis was successful on three of five shots in the loss.

The Raiders will be back on the pitch this weekend as they travel to Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest. Game time is set for 12pm. New England College will also be back in (North Atlantic) conference action on Saturday as they travel to Castine, Maine for a 4pm tilt with Maine Maritime.
