Men's Soccer edged by Saint Joseph's, 1-0

(Nashua, N.H.) Saint Joseph's College received a late goal from JoJo Strobino in the 80th minute as they edged the Rivier University Men's Soccer team, 1-0 in a thrilling Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this evening at Raider Field. The loss sends the Raiders to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference while the Monks are now 4-1-2 and 1-0-0 in the GNAC.

Strobino was the beneficiary of a pass from Brett Mattos who was able to send a solid thru ball to the right foot of Strobino to set up the game winner.

The goal spoiled a stellar night from freshman Collin Deyarmin (Raymond, N.H.). The rookie goalkeeper was electric between the pipes as he made eight saves. For the Monks, Blake Mullin stopped the only shot he saw on net for the shutout.

Rivier will look to get back to .500 on the season as they host New England College in a 7:30pm kickoff on Tuesday night at Raider Field. Saint Joseph's will be back on the pitch this Wednesday afternoon with a 4pm road contest at the University of Maine-Farmington.
