Women’s Ice Hockey Draws with Lancers

TYNGSBORO, MA: Rivier women's ice hockey tied with Worcester State University this evening.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/18/23

- Score: Rivier 3, Worcester St. 3

- Records: Rivier (6-14-3), Worcester St. (16-7-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- There was no scoring in the first frame.

- In the second period, four goals were scored. Worcester State's Anya Laxton put away the first goal with the assist credited to Kiersten Erickson. Jillian Hallee (Berlin, NH) answered back on the power play with a goal at 9:59 on the clock, assists from Briana Paxson (Eagle River, AK) and Brianna Parent (Saint Albans, VT). About two minutes later, Amy MacGlashing snuck the puck by Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) for a Lancers goal with assists granted to Sydney Vautour and Emily Pavoni. Jessica Driscoll (Tewksbury, MA) of Rivier took advantage on the power play, evening the score to 2-2, the assists were credited to Caeli Reed (Norwood, MA) and Hallee.

- Quickly into the third frame Clare Conway buried the Lancers third and final goal of the game. Chiara Skeels (Saint Albans, VT) was able to drift by the Lancers defenders to find the back of the net to tie the game.

- Neither team was able to score in OT.

- Hinkley had 64 saves tonight for the Raiders. Kelsey Czerniawski saved 21 shots in net for the Lancers.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Shots: Worcester St. 63, Rivier 24

- Penalties: Worcester St. 10 minutes on 5 infractions, Rivier 4 minutes on 2 infractions

- Power Plays: Rivier was 2-for-5, Worcester St. was 0-for-2
