Women’s Ice Hockey Draws with the Bison

NASHUA, NH: Rivier women's ice hockey tied against Nichols College this evening at Conway Arena.   

THE BASICS:

- Date: 11/19/22

- Score: Rivier 2, Nichols 2

- Records: Rivier (1-4-2), Nichols (1-5-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

- In the first period Nichols' Grace Melanson skated by Riv's defenders to score an unassisted goal. Briana Paxson (Eagle Rivier, AK) found the back of the net on a power play, with the assist credited to Jessica Driscoll (Tewksbury, MA) with a little over one minute left in the period.  

- Another Riv power play goal scored by Molly Dukesherer (Richland, MI) from a pass from Driscoll 10 minutes into the third period. With 17.4 seconds left on the clock, Nichols' Melanson records her second goal of the game with the assist credited to Rebecca Taylor, sending the game into OT.

- No goals were scored in overtime, resulting in a tie.  

- Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) had 54 saves for the Raiders. Julia Carroll had 24 saves for the Bison.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

- Shots: Nichols 56, Rivier 26

- Penalties: Nichols 10 minutes on 5 infractions, Rivier 8 minutes on 4 infractions

- Power Plays: Rivier 2 for 5, Nichols 0 for 4

- Rivier women's ice hockey will travel to Providence, Rhode Island Tuesday to face Johnson and Wales University at 6:00 PM.
