Bears Shutout Women’s Hockey

POTSDAM, NY: Rivier women's hockey was shutout this evening while on the road against SUNY Potsdam.  

THE BASICS:

- Score: Potsdam 5, Rivier 0

- Records: Potsdam (5-4), Rivier (2-4-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  In the shutout, the Bears scored two goals in the first and second periods while adding on another in the third.

- Alessia Marandola netted her first goal of two in the first and found her second in the third period. Alex Quinn, Kaylee Merrill, and Keely Towne all found the back of the net for Potsdam to give them the 5-0 victory.

- Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) was tagged with the loss putting her at 2-2-2 on the season. She racked up 35 saves in the effort. Hannah Barrett would get the win after seeing only nine shots and saving all of them.

-  Shots: Potsdam 40, Rivier 9

-  Penalties: Potsdam 8 minutes on 4 infractions. Rivier had 6 minutes on 3 infractions.

-  Power Plays: Potsdam was 1-for-3. Rivier was 0-for-4.
