Women’s Hockey Falls to Vikings

SALEM, MA: Rivier women's hockey stumbled against Salem State this evening.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 2/7/23

- Score: Salem 4, Rivier 0

- Records: Salem (5-14-2), Rivier (6-11-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Vikings shutout the Raiders, scoring two goals in the first period followed by one in the second and third periods.

- Alexis Thomas started it off just 4:12 into the contest. Gianna Beauclair tacked on one more at 11:58 into the period to go up 2-0. Salem added one more 19:41 into the second on a MacKenzie Mallett score. The Vikings finished the scoring in the third with one last goal by Lexi Warner at 2:34.

- Madelyn Morgan (Riverside, CA) saw 51 shots on goal, saving 47 in the loss. Hannah Aveni got the win after saving all 29 shots.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: Salem 51, Rivier 29

-  Penalties: Salem had 4 minutes on 2 infractions.

-  Power Play: Rivier was 0-for-2.
