Women’s Hockey too Much for Wildcats

ATTLEBORO, MA: Rivier women's hockey took down Johnson & Wales this evening by a score of 3-1.  

THE BASICS:

- Records: Rivier (2-4-2), JWU (0-4-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  JWU got the scoring going in the first period on a shorthanded goal by Kaylin Garner. 7:12 into the period, the Raiders tied the game up off a goal from Jessica Driscoll (Tewksbury, MA) from Angeline Rasby (Rapid City, SD).

Brianna Rumptz (Troy, MI) gave Riv the lead 50 seconds into the second period. The last goal came in the third period on an empty net opportunity by Briana Paxson (Eagle River, AK).

- Rachel Hinkley (Swedesboro, NJ) racked up 35 saves to improve to 2-1-2 on the season. Anna Maulson made eight saves suffering the loss to fall to 0-3-1.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Shots: JWU 36, Rivier 11

-  Penalties: Rivier had 8 minutes on 4 infractions. JWU had 4 minutes on 2 infractions.

-  Power Plays: Rivier was 0-for-2. JWU was 0-for-4.
