Field Hockey gets tripped up by AMCATS, 4-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Field Hockey team dropped another tough Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to visiting Anna Maria College, 4-0 at Raider Field. The Raiders are now 4-10 overall and hold an 1-4 mark in the conference while the AMCATS improve to 8-7 overall, 2-3 in the GNAC.

Anna Maria scored in the 30th minute as Kylie Dalbec was able to knock home a loose ball in front of the net for the eventual game winner. The AMCATS then added three second half goals to secure the win.

Senior goalkeeper Makenzie Flagg (Shirley, Mass.) made a remarkable 17 saves on the afternoon as the Raiders were outshot 24-3 in the contest. Anna Maria's Mary Kate Breen stopped both shots she faced.

The Raiders will have a quick turnaround as they are set to host Wells College tomorrow afternoon for Senior Day. All three seniors – Flagg, Veronica Jones (West Chesterfield, N.H.) and Christa Murphy (Dracut, Mass.) – will be honored prior to the start of the 1pm contest.
