Ellen Maruszewski named new Field Hockey/Women's LAX Head Coach

(Nashua, NH) Rivier University has officially announced that Ellen Maruszewski has been named the Head Coach for the Raiders' Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse teams.

As an Assistant Coach for both teams, Maruzewski saw the growth of both programs and was instrumental in helping the Women's Lacrosse team to back-to-back GNAC Tournament appearances and a berth in the ECAC Post-Season Tournament.

Maruszewski graduated from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH in 2009 where she was a four year standout on the Hawks' Field Hockey team. She led the NE-10 Conference in Defensive Saves during her junior season and followed that with a selection to the Division II North/South All-Star Game in 2008.

Prior to joining the Raider staff, Maruszewski was an Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Fitchburg State where she worked exclusively with the defense and goalkeepers.

"After being involved with college athletics the past five years, I am thrilled to be able to take over the Field Hockey and Lacrosse programs here at Rivier University." Maruszewski said following her hire. "This is such a wonderful institution and being able to be a more active member of the Athletic Department is a dream come true."

Maruszewski is the third head coach in both Field Hockey and Women's Lacrosse history. Her first game as the Head Coach will be on September 3 as the Field Hockey team will host Westfield State University in a 5pm Non-Conference contest at Raider Field.
