WALTHAM, Mass. – The Rivier baseball team lost 17-6 to Lasell in seven innings in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup on Monday afternoon at Stein Diamond.
The Raiders fell to 3-12 (0-2 GNAC) while the Lasers improved to 13-7 (2-1 GNAC).
The Lasers took a 4-2 run after the first inning. After tacking on an additional run in the second to make it a three-run game, Lasell scored six runs in the bottom of the fourth to lead it 11-2.
Rivier's Luis Colon hit a two-run shot to left in the top of the seventh, but the Lasers would end things with a two-run bottom half of the frame to end the contest.
Next up, Rivier is set to open up its home slate with a GNAC doubleheader against Norwich set to begin at noon at Holman Stadium.
