Mederos Named GNAC Pitcher of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – After tossing a complete-game shutout in Saturday night's win over Wells, sophomore Nolan Mederos was tabbed the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Mederos struck out eight Wells batters over nine scoreless innings in an 8-0 victory for the Raiders, capping off a Spring Break trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. as part of The Ripken Experience.
Rivier's 3-4 start is the best through the first seven games of a season since the 2007 campaign.
Mederos' performance on the mound also helped secure the first nine-inning shutout for Rivier since the Raiders downed Newbury, 4-0, on April 10, 2014 at Holman Stadium.
Rivier will travel to Libby Field on Wednesday, March 13 for a non-conference matchup against Wentworth beginning at 5:00 p.m.
