Bridgewater St. Outlasts Baseball, 13-7

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Rivier baseball team fell to Bridgewater St. by a final score of 13-7 on Tuesday at Griffith Field as part of The Ripken Experience.

The Raiders fell to 2-2 with the setback as the Bears improved to 2-3.

Rivier took a 3-1 lead as Ben O'Connell hit a three-run shot to left field.

The Bears would rally, scoring nine runs over the next three innings to take a 10-3 lead after four innings of play.

Rivier would add three runs over the sixth and seventh but could not mount a comeback.

First year Damon Reyes took the loss in his collegiate debut, allowing four earned runs on two hits and four walks over 3.0 innings. Reliever Dean Adams pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, striking out three and walking one batter.

The Raiders have an off day on Wednesday before returning to action on Thursday, March 7 against Lancaster Bible. First pitch is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. from Ebbets Field.
