Rivier rolls over Westfield State

Rivier College (18-13 overall; 12-1 GNAC) defeated Westfield State University 3-0 by the scores of 25-18, 25-12, 25-18. The Raiders committed just 10 team hitting errors and hit for an efficient .333 percentage on offense in route to the 3-0 sweep over WSU.

Junior Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) put down a match high 18 kills on 31 attempts with just 3 errors for an explosive .484 hitting percentage. The 5'9 outside hitter became the first player in Raider history to eclipse 500 kills in a season. Senior setter Lauren Saccoccio (Warwick, RI) directed a balanced offense with 27 assists while scooping up 8 digs. Saccoccio benefited from solid passing by her classmates Emileigh Cenedella (Townsend, MA) and Caitie Callahan (Dedham, MA) who both passed an efficient 10/10 on receive while dominating the back row with a combined 21 digs in the 3 sets. Sophomore middle hitter Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) put down 7 kills and 3 blocks while junior Meghan Farrell (Marlborough, MA) and Megan Dudek (W. Chesterfield, NH) chipped in on offense with a combined 5 kills.
