Emerson edges Rivier in GNAC Women's Volleyball action

Boston, MA - Rivier College (1-1 GNAC; 4-7 overall) lost a tough 5 setter to Emerson College.

In the second match of the day (River beat Anna Maria, 3-0 earlier) the Raiders couldn't quite put away the home Lions of Emerson College losing a tough 5 set match. Outside hitters Kenna Finlayson (Derry, NH) and Emileigh Cenedella (Townsend, MA) registered double doubles to pace the Raiders. Finlayson pounded out a match high 28 kills while scooping up 16 digs and Cenedella put away 11 kills with 18 digs. Cenedella also scored 3 ace serves for the Raiders. Setter Caitie Callahan (Dedham, MA) scored a double double of her own with 56 assists and 12 digs while middle hitters Nicole Peacock (Warwick, RI) and Nicole Boucher put back 5 and 4 blocks respectively. Peacock also laced in 13 kills for Rivier's offense. Libero Jess Amaral (E. Providence, RI) was solid with 19 digs for the blue and white in the back row.
