Field Hockey blanked by Thomas College, 6-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Field Hockey team was shutout this afternoon by Thomas College in a non-conference contest held at Raider Field on Sunday afternoon. With the 6-0 setback, the Raiders are now 2-7 on the season while Thomas evens their overall record at 5-5.

The Terriers scored three times in each half with both Abigal Dunn and Gabby Martell earning two tallies each. Dunn was the star of the day as she collected two assists along with her two goals. Taylor Bergeron and Erica Blake were the other goal scorers for Thomas College.

Freshman Stevie Charest (Lisbon, Maine) had a busy day in net as she faced 25 shots. The rookie stood tall as she was able to make 19 saves in her 70 minutes of action. The combination of Jessica Russell and Brittany Fox kept the Raiders off the board for Thomas.

The Raiders will once again be in non-conference action as they head north to Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday, September 30th for a 4:30pm start time.
