(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Field Hockey team, fresh off their 9-0 victory of Daniel Webster on Monday night, returned to action this evening as they hosted Fitchburg State University at Raider Field. Following the break, the Green and Gold threaten again early in the stanza as Morrissey's shot got past Foster, but sophomore Taylor Lirakis (Tewksbury, Mass.) deflected the ball off the goal line for a defensive save.

The Raiders turned up the offensive pressure with just over 20 minutes remaining in the contest when sophomore Jordan Parece (Pelham, N.H.) and junior Chelsea Gomes (Epsom, N.H.) fired shots towards goal, only to have both shots block by the defense to preserve the 1-0 margin.

The visitors upped its advantage at the 58:32 mark as junior Madeline Hoffman tucked the ball into the right side of the cage for her first marker on the season off an assist from sophomore Bailey Miller for the 2-0 lead.
