Three Raiders Named to GNAC Women’s Volleyball All-Conference Teams

GNAC RELEASE

WINTHROP, Mass. – Highlighted by junior middle Lily Sills' placement on the First Team, three Rivier women's volleyball student-athletes were tabbed as Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Volleyball All-Conference Selections, the conference announced on Tuesday. Along with Sills, junior middle Brynn Roche was selected to the Third Team while senior libero Sofia Pawlusik was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

Sills finished third in the GNAC in hitting percentage after a stellar junior season in which she hit at a .305 clip. The Carlisle, Mass. native recorded 245 kills, good for 2.58 kills per set, as she helped lead the Raiders to the GNAC Quarterfinals. Sills added 0.48 blocks per set, 0.46 digs per set, and 0.26 service aces per set. This is Sills' third straight GNAC yearly honor, and the second consecutive year she has been recognized as a First Teamer by the conference.

Roche made her debut on the all-conference list after hitting .227 on the season, notching 1.55 kills per set, 0.68 blocks per set, and 0.30 digs per set. In a five-set victory over New England Col. on Sept. 23, the Johnston, R.I. product registered a season-high 16 kills, hitting at a .357 clip to help Rivier rally past the Pilgrims.

Pawlusik's career comes to an end after dedicating countless time and support to the program after four years. The Burnt Hills, N.Y. native etched her name in the record books this season as the ninth member of the program to reach the 1,000 kills milestone. She embodied what it meant to be a Raider, as her presence was felt both on and off the court as an accomplished libero and leader.

Rivier will look to build off both personal and team success as the team makes another run at a GNAC Championship in 2024.
