Silverman, O'Reilly earn National Accolades from the AVCA

(Lexington, Kentucky) The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced their 2015 Women's Volleyball All-Region teams earlier today. Two member of the Raiders' squad were honored with selections to the All-New England Region team. The team finished the season with 28-6 overall record, a perfect 11-0 mark in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and the program's twelfth appearance in the conference championship.

Junior Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) was selected to the All-New England Region team after an outstanding season in the blue and white. Silverman ended the 2015 season with the fourth best hitting percentage (.399) in Nation and was also 30th in blocks per set at 1.09. She was also selected to the GNAC All-Conference first team after being a Second Team selection in 2014. The 5-11 middle hitter was dominate along the net for Rivier as she led the team with 118 total blocks and the before mentioned blocks per set average – both of which are also program single season records. Silverman garnered both GNAC Offensive Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week honors this season and complied 354 kills and a .399 hitting percentage.

Senior Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) was tabbed as an Honorable Mention on the AVCA All-New England Region team as she guided the Raiders to the 14th best team hitting percentage in the Nation of .246. O'Reilly wrapped up her stellar career with the Nation's 37th best assist per set average (10.08) and she was also selected to her fourth consecutive GNAC All-Conference team and third straight appearance as a First Teamer. The fourth year setter had a remarkable season for the Raiders that saw her eclipse the 4,000 career assist mark and become the University's All Time leader in career assists (4,403). O'Reilly finished the season with 1,058 assists and was also named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week twice.
