Silverman powers Women's Volleyball past Framingham State, 3-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team earned a 3-0 non-conference victory this evening over visiting Framingham State University inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The win lifts the Raiders' overall record to 25-5 while the Rams drop just their eighth contest of the season and are now 22-8.

Rivier was able to take the three sets by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-15.

Junior Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded an outstanding .714 hitting percentage with 11 kills and nine total blocks to lead the Raiders. Fellow junior Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) contributed with seven kills and 10 digs while classmate Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) had six kills and a .545 hitting percentage. Senior Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) guided the offense with her 32 assists and sophomore libero Bethany Trevino (Westminster, Colo.) collected 13 digs. Senior Jackie Pisecco (Chelmsford, Mass.) had six kills and three total blocks in the win.

The Rams were paced by junior Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.). The 6-0 right side hitter hammered down a team high 10 kills and collected seven digs. Sophomore Sarah Leonard (Southborough, Mass.) directed the offensive attack with 24 assists and senior Danielle Girard (Tivoli, N.Y.) led the team with eight digs to go along with her six kills in the contest.

The Raiders will close the 2015 regular season with a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon when they host Emmanuel College to the Muldoon Gymnasium. Game time is set for 1pm. Framingham State will be back in action on Friday night as they host Worcester State in a MASCAC contest at 6:30pm.
