Emily O'Reilly named GNAC/Corvias WVB Offensive Player of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced that Rivier University senior Emily O'Reilly has been selected as the GNAC/Corvias Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second time this season that the San Francisco, California native has garnered this weekly honor.

In a perfect 4-0 week for the Raiders – all of which were 3-0 decisions over GNAC opponents – O'Reilly averaged 11 assists and 2.82 digs per set. The primary setter directed the Rivier offense to a team .316 hitting percentage in the four victories. Her best performance of the week came against Johnson & Wales University on Thursday evening. With both teams entering the contest with similar 7-0 conference records, O'Reilly guided the Raiders past the Wildcats with 37 assists in three sets played.

The Raiders, who enter this week at 24-5 overall and a perfect 10-0 in the GNAC, have already clinched the top spot for the upcoming conference tournament. Rivier will host Framingham State tomorrow evening in a non-conference contest beginning at 7pm inside the Muldoon Gymnasium.
