Women's Volleyball sweeps Keene State, 3-0

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Volleyball team was able to take care of business tonight as they swept the visiting Owls of Keene State College in three sets inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The Raiders were victorious by scores of 26-24, 25-22 and 26-24.

The win ups the Rivier overall record to 11-4 while Keene State suffers just their fifth loss of the season as they are now 11-5.

Junior Lauren Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) led the attack for the Raiders as she hammered down 15 kills and recorded a .400 hitting percentage. The 5-11 middle hitter also chipped in defensively with three total blocks. Junior Dana Mott (Medway, Mass.) provided additional offensive power as her .429 hitting percentage and 11 kills help guide the Raiders to their 11th win of the season.

Senior setter Emily O'Reilly (San Francisco, Calif.) tallied 44 assists and junior Molly McCormack (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) led the team with 13 digs.

The Owls saw Courtney Collins and Rachel Lamica led the way offensively with 7 kills each and Riley Bunker collect 16 digs. Anglea Silveri also reached double-digits with 13 digs in the loss.

Next up for the Raiders will be a Great Northeast Athletic Conference date with Simmons College and Lasell College on Saturday afternoon. The GNAC tri-match will be hosted by the Sharks in Boston, Mass. with Rivier set to play at 1pm and 3pm. Keene State will also be in tri-match action on Saturday as they travel to Brunswick, Maine to battle Bowdoin College and Tufts University.
