Caron, Raiders earn non-conference victory at Daniel Webster

Nashua, N.H. – The Rivier University women's soccer team earned a 7-0 decision over crosstown foe Danie Webster College at DWC's Eagel Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Raiders improved to 5-3 overall while DWC dropped to 1-4.

Megan Caron (Tyngsboro, Mass.) led Rivier with three goals and two assists while Paxton LaRocque (Londonderry, N.H.) added a pair of scores. Maggie Cahoon (Derry, N.H.) and Jennifer Thorpe (N. Attleboro, Mass.) chipped in with single goals.

Caron notched two goals in the opening half while Cahoon and LaRocque added one each for a 4-0 lead at the break. Caron tacked on her third in the 59th minute, while LaRocque (69th) and Thorpe (73rd) added the late scores.

Danielle Melanson (Derry, N.H.) stopped eight shots for the Eagles while Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.) made one save for Rivier.

Amanda Dargie (Melbourne, Fla.) registered a pair of shots for DWC.

The Eagles return to action on Saturday as they open their NECC schedule at Mitchell beginning at 12:00 p.m.

Rivier visits Simmons on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in a GNAC matchup.
