Lyndon State hands Women's Soccer their first loss of 2014

(Nashua, N.H.) The Rivier University Women's Soccer team dropped their first game of the season this afternoon as visiting Lyndon State College was able to score the only goal in the 1-0 contest.

Lyndon State's Aitanna Greenwood (Salt Lake City, Utah) netted her 2nd goal of the season in the 62nd minute to provide the Hornets with the win. Greenwood was able to take a failed clear attempt and dribble to the left side of the box where she was able to lift the ball over the outstretched arms of Rivier freshman goalkeeper Lauren Goodspeed (Merrimack, N.H.).

Goodspeed made six saves for the Raiders while her counterpart Marley Harmon (Buxton, Maine) stopped all five shots she saw for her second consecutive shutout.

Next up for the Raiders will be a date with Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe Johnson and Wales University on Saturday, September 13th. Game time scheduled for 3pm at Raider Field. Lyndon State will host Saint Michael's on Wednesday afternoon at 4pm for their home opener.
