Maggie Cohoon named ECAC & GNAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

(Winthrop, Mass.) The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced earlier today that Rivier University sophomore Maggie Cohoon was selected as the Women's Soccer Player of the Week.

The Derry, New Hampshire native was named the Most Valuable Player of the 10th Annual Husson University Classic after scoring four goals and two assists for a total of 10 points in two games. Cohoon recorded a hat trick and assisted on two goals in the Raiders' 5-1 win over University of Maine-Presque Isle on Saturday. She followed that performance with a game winning breakaway goal against Husson to capture a 1-0 win and the tournament title on Sunday.

This is the first time in her career that she has been named GNAC Player of the Week.

It was also announced on Tuesday evening that Cohoon was tabbed the ECAC Division III New England Offensive Player of the Week.

The Women's Soccer team will return to action this Friday night (7pm) as they host Newbury College in the RivRaider Classic.
