Saints too Much for Women’s Basketball

BOSTON, MA: Rivier women's basketball fell to GNAC opponent Emmanuel College this evening.  

THE BASICS:

- Date: 1/26/23

- Score: Emmanuel 87, Rivier 70

- Records: Emmanuel (13-5, 8-2 GNAC), Rivier (9-10, 6-5 GNAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  The Saints took just a three-point lead into the half. Kiera Eubanks, Yannie Chan, Desiree Robinson, and Olivia Matela led the way as they all scored over 15 points in the contest. The second half started slow for the Raiders as they were outscored in the third quarter 25-12. Riv bounced back in the fourth, but the damage was already done.

- Eubanks topped all scorers with 21 points, along with 11 rebounds. Chan finished the game with 19 points and ten assists. Robinson tallied the third double-double for the Saints with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Matela added another 16 points in the win.

- Hannah Muchemore (Nashua, NH) finished with a team-high 20 points to go along with her eight assists. Alexa Dufries (Leicester, MA) Added 14 points of her own in the effort.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

-  Rebounds: Emmanuel 50, Rivier 29

-  Assists: Emmanuel 28, Rivier 19

-  Shooting Percentage: Emmanuel 57.6%, Rivier 32.8%
